  39. The controller will make quite a bit of difference.  I have a Zip drive hooked
  40. up to both a PC with a cheap ISA non-DMA SCSI card and a 4000 with an Emplant
  41. SCSI.  (Yes, they're on the same bus, and yes the two machines have different
  42. ID numbers)  Anyway, the transfer from the Emplant SCSI (when it works at all)
  43. is significantly slower than the transfer on the PC, even though the Zip drive
  44. is mounted much closer to the Amiga.  The Emplant gets only about 500K/s because
  45. it's only SCSI I.  The PC card gets more like 800 because it's SCSI II.
